Connecticut-based CorkTec Inc. plans to open a 3,000-square-foot facility in Kennewick this fall, taking over the site where Portugal's Cortiças Janosa SA had planned to open the Washington Cork Corp.

The American Society for Enology and Viticulture's Best Paper committee has selected the authors of two research papers to be honored at its 59th annual meeting. From among all papers published in the American Journal of Enology and Viticulture in 2007, one outstanding paper in each of the fields of viticulture and enology is chosen for its contribution to the advancement of the respective discipline.
